Square Rounds

Square Rounds (1992) by Jocelyn Hebert — We chose an artefact from the selection in the National Theatre archive and created a response to it based on the research theme, and exploration of its history and context. During the research, we discovered that one of her stage designs, inspired by Chinese aesthetics, was historically inaccurate. With in-depth research of Chinese history, we re-designed based on history and their actual life which was affected by war, leading to our work being featured in the NT Archive newsletter and magazine.
